The co-founder of The Sandbox's wife was almost kidnapped in France, and the police say it may be related to cryptocurrency
Según el medio francés "Le Journal du Dimanche", Sebastien Borget, cofundador y director de operaciones de The Sandbox, sufrió un intento de secuestro esta semana en su residencia en Villenoy, Sena y Marne, Francia.
El informe indica que un hombre disfrazado de mensajero llegó a la puerta principal y, después de que la esposa de Borget abriera la puerta, cinco cómplices enmascarados irrumpieron en el patio e intentaron arrastrarla a la fuerza hacia un vehículo. Los vecinos intervinieron tras escuchar sus gritos de auxilio y los sospechosos huyeron del lugar. Dos sospechosos ya han sido arrestados, mientras que otros cuatro siguen prófugos. La policía encontró armas falsas, bridas y capuchas en posesión de los detenidos. La investigación preliminar de la policía francesa sugiere que el incidente está relacionado con las criptomonedas.
El informe señaló que Francia ha registrado 41 casos de secuestro o intento de secuestro relacionados con criptomonedas este año, sumando un total de 135 casos desde 2023, lo que representa casi el 80% de los casos relacionados en Europa.
