Hong Kong and 9 other regions have cracked down on cross-border fraud and money laundering, arresting over 3,000 people, with some of the illicit funds converted into stablecoins
بر اساس بیانیه خبری منطقه ویژه اداری هنگکنگ، پلیس این منطقه اعلام کرد که برای مبارزه با کلاهبرداریهای فرامرزی و فعالیتهای پولشویی، با نهادهای مجری قانون از ۹ کشور و منطقه از جمله سنگاپور، کره جنوبی و تایلند همکاری کرده است. این عملیات از ۱۰ مارس تا ۷ مه انجام شد و منجر به دستگیری ۳۰۱۸ نفر در ارتباط با بیش از ۱۳۸ هزار پرونده کلاهبرداری با مجموع خسارات تقریبی ۷۵۲ میلیون دلار (حدود ۵.۸۹ میلیارد دلار هنگکنگ) گردید.
در طول این عملیات، نهادهای مجری قانون در مجموع ۱۰۱,۹۸۹ حساب بانکی را مسدود کرده و حدود ۱۶۱ میلیون دلار (حدود ۱.۲۶ میلیارد دلار هنگکنگ) از وجوه کلاهبرداریشده را توقیف کردند. از این میان، پلیس هنگکنگ ۸۷۰ نفر را دستگیر و حدود ۵۳۹ میلیون دلار هنگکنگ از وجوه را توقیف کرد. بزرگترین پرونده مربوط به یک شرکت سنگاپوری بود که ۳۶ میلیون دلار (حدود ۲۸۰ میلیون دلار هنگکنگ) از آن کلاهبرداری شده بود و وجوه مرتبط با آن متعاقباً به چندین حساب بانکی در هنگکنگ و سایر مناطق منتقل شد. حدود نیمی از این مبلغ به استیبلکوین تبدیل و در کیفپولهای مختلف داراییهای مجازی پخش شد که پلیس پس از ردیابی، موفق به مسدودسازی ۲۰ میلیون دلار از این وجوه شد.
تحقیقات نشان میدهد که پولشویی از طریق پلتفرمهای دارایی مجازی رو به افزایش است و مناطق مختلف باید به تقویت توانمندیهای خود برای پاسخ به جرایم مرتبط با داراییهای مجازی از طریق اشتراکگذاری اطلاعات و مکانیسمهای همکاری ادامه دهند.
