Segundo o analista on-chain Yu Jin, em meados de setembro, quando o preço de ETH atingiu a máxima do ano em torno de US$ 4.700, um recorde de 2,66 milhões de ETH optou por sair do staking. Após três meses e meio de digestão, o ETH aguardando para sair do staking foi praticamente absorvido, restando apenas 80.000 ETH. A venda desses cerca de 2,6 milhões de ETH que saíram do staking causou uma queda de preço de 34%: de US$ 4.700 em meados de setembro para os atuais US$ 3.100.
A situação atual é oposta, com a quantidade de ETH aguardando para entrar em staking superando em muito a quantidade de saída. Isso se deve principalmente à empresa de tesouraria da Ethereum, Bitmine (BMNR), que realizou staking de uma grande quantidade de ETH recentemente (depositando 593.152 ETH nos últimos 8 dias), com mais de 1 milhão de ETH atualmente na fila de staking.
