Según Fortune, la plataforma de trading de derivados descentralizados Variational anunció la finalización de una ronda de financiación de Serie A de 50 millones de dólares, liderada por Dragonfly Capital, con la participación de Bain Capital Crypto y Coinbase Ventures.
La empresa tiene su sede en las Islas Caimán y se dedica a construir un protocolo de derivados on-chain para operadores financieros institucionales y tradicionales. Al agregar liquidez de las finanzas tradicionales y del mercado cripto, su objetivo es proporcionar un mercado on-chain para activos reales, como el petróleo y las materias primas, que puedan negociarse al instante. Su producto principal, la plataforma Omni, adopta un modelo sin comisiones y combina un mecanismo de pool de liquidez para mejorar la profundidad del mercado y la eficiencia en la ejecución.
Variational declaró que su objetivo no es competir directamente con los exchanges centralizados, sino conectar la liquidez de múltiples fuentes a través de un modelo de "estilo corretaje", que incluye creadores de mercado financieros tradicionales y plataformas de trading de criptomonedas convencionales, para abordar el problema del "arranque en frío de la liquidez" en los mercados on-chain.
