The company is working on therapies that aim to extend the number of healthy years a person can live . The approach focuses on changing how cells work by adjusting the epigenome, which affects cell behavior without altering the DNA. NewLimit believes that aging is not just a natural process but a key factor behind many major diseases. The company explained that while aging was once thought to be permanent, new research in epigenetic reprogramming suggests it can be changed. The company uses a combination of genomics and artificial intelligence (AI) . Its main tool, called the Discovery Engine , tests thousands of ways to adjust human cells and studies the results . Machine learning models then help decide which changes to test next. In a statement, NewLimit stated, "Our bet is that this combination of AI and scaled genomics can unlock medicines that give each of us more healthy years".
