Missouri, USA, sues cryptocurrency ATM operator CoinFlip for facilitating fraud

Según Cointelegraph, la fiscal general de Misuri, Catherine Hanaway, ha presentado una demanda contra el operador de criptomonedas CoinFlip, acusándolo de "facilitar deliberadamente transacciones fraudulentas y lucrarse con ellas".

La demanda sostiene que estas actividades fraudulentas tienen como objetivo a "personas mayores y veteranos" en el estado, solicitando al tribunal que declare que CoinFlip violó la Ley de Prácticas Comerciales de Misuri, prohibiéndole operar en el estado e imponiendo una multa de 1.000 dólares por cada infracción cometida en los últimos cinco años, hasta un máximo de 1,826 millones de dólares, además de buscar la restitución para los consumidores. CoinFlip opera 136 cajeros de criptomonedas en Misuri y 4.229 en todo el país. Anteriormente, Bitcoin Depot se declaró en bancarrota bajo el Capítulo 11 debido a demandas y presiones regulatorias.
