وصلت عريضة في كوريا الجنوبية تطالب بإلغاء ضريبة بنسبة 22% على أرباح الاستثمار في العملات المشفرة إلى عتبة الـ 50 ألف توقيع، وستتم مراجعتها من قبل لجنة التخطيط المالي والاقتصادي في الجمعية الوطنية. ومن المقرر أن تدخل هذه الضريبة حيز التنفيذ في يناير 2027. ويجادل مقدمو العريضة بأن هذا النظام الضريبي يفرض أعباءً مالية وإجرائية على المستثمرين، ويحد من فرص الحراك الاجتماعي للشباب الذين استُبعدوا من سوق الإسكان بسبب الارتفاع الكبير في أسعار العقارات.
يشير مقدمو العريضة إلى أن فرض ضريبة بنسبة 22% على أرباح العملات المشفرة مع توفير معاملة ضريبية أكثر تفضيلاً لفئات الأصول الأخرى سيؤدي إلى إضعاف حصة كوريا الجنوبية في سوق العملات المشفرة. ويحذرون من أن فرض ضرائب قصيرة الأجل قسراً قد يؤدي على المدى الطويل إلى انكماش الصناعة وخروج رؤوس الأموال والكفاءات.
يمتلك حوالي 32% من سكان كوريا الجنوبية عملات مشفرة، لكن السوق في حالة انكماش. فقد انخفضت القيمة الإجمالية لأصول العملات المشفرة التي يمتلكها الكوريون الجنوبيون من حوالي 121.8 تريليون وون في يناير 2025 إلى حوالي 60.6 تريليون وون في فبراير 2026، كما تراجع حجم التداول اليومي في البورصات الخمس الكبرى من 11.6 مليار دولار في ديسمبر 2024 إلى 3 مليارات دولار في فبراير.
