Sandisk Stock After a 524% Run: Why SNDK Keeps Sliding Now

Sandisk stock is falling not because its business weakened, but because it ran further than almost anything else in the market and now trades as the most crowded name in the memory trade. SNDK dropped about 6% on October 12, 2026 after a Chinese DRAM maker announced a technical breakthrough, then slid more than 5% again on October 14 as hot inflation data hit semiconductors. That came after a year-to-date gain of roughly 524%.

Below: what triggered each leg down, why a DRAM headline hits a NAND company, what Sandisk's own numbers say, and how to approach SNDK on WEEX, where the stock is also a headline prize in the current Dice Rush event.

On October 15, 2026, WEEX's SNDK/USDT stock page was quoted around $1,581 and the SNDK perpetual near $1,573. Both are indicative snapshots in a stock that has been moving 5% a day.

Sandisk Stock After a 524% Run: Why SNDK Keeps Sliding Now
Sandisk (SNDK) after a 524% year-to-date run: why the memory leader keeps sliding

Why Is Sandisk Stock Falling This Week?

The first hit came on October 12. ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), a privately held Chinese DRAM producer, said it had made key progress on a denser memory-cell design and plans an AI data-center product later this year. Sandisk fell about 6% to roughly $1,484 in early trading, Seagate dropped 4%, and Micron, Western Digital and SK Hynix all traded lower.

The second hit came on October 14. September CPI rose 3.7% year over year against a 3.6% forecast, the 10-year Treasury yield climbed to about 5.24%, and chip stocks extended a slide that has taken the PHLX Semiconductor index down more than 10% in five sessions. Sandisk and AMD each fell more than 5% that day.

A DRAM Headline Hitting a NAND Company

Sandisk does not make DRAM. It makes NAND flash, the storage memory in SSDs and phones. So why did CXMT's news hurt it more than Micron, which actually competes in DRAM?

The answer is positioning, not fundamentals. Memory and storage stocks tend to move as one basket on sector sentiment, and in that basket Sandisk has the largest gain to protect. When funds trim "AI memory" exposure, they sell the name with the most profit in it first. Sandisk's 4.7% weight in the Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM) adds mechanical selling whenever that fund sees outflows.

The better reading: the CXMT news is a real long-term competitive signal for DRAM pricing, but it is a sentiment shock for Sandisk. Lasting pressure on Sandisk's pricing would require new NAND supply, not new DRAM supply.

What Sandisk's Fundamentals Actually Show

The latest reported numbers look nothing like a company in trouble:

  • Fiscal Q4 2026 revenue: $8.96 billion, up 371.6% year over year.
  • Segment split: edge products $5.43 billion; data center $2.98 billion.
  • Adjusted EPS: $39.25 versus a $33.28 consensus.
  • Next-quarter guidance: $10.3 billion to $10.8 billion in revenue for fiscal Q1 2027.
  • Buyback: a $14 billion addition lifted remaining authorization to $15.5 billion.
  • Supply view: management said demand is growing faster than supply and expects NAND output to stay on allocation beyond calendar 2027.

That is the tension in SNDK right now. The business is accelerating, but a stock up five-fold in a year already prices much of that in, and any doubt about the memory cycle hits the price before it hits the revenue line.

What Experienced Memory Traders Watch

  • NAND contract prices. Monthly pricing data is the earliest read on whether the shortage is easing.
  • New fab capacity. Announcements of NAND capacity additions from Samsung, SK Hynix, Kioxia or Chinese producers matter far more for Sandisk than DRAM news.
  • Rates. With the 10-year near 5.24%, high-multiple chip stocks are sensitive to every inflation print.
  • Basket correlation. If Micron and Seagate stabilize while SNDK keeps falling, the selling is specific; if they all fall together, it is sector deleveraging.
