Compiled 12 August 2026 from the project's own documentation, block explorers, direct reads of the networks themselves, and exchanges' own listing notices. Figures are dated where they move.

PROM is the token of Prom, a network whose documentation describes it as a zero-knowledge blockchain built with the Polygon CDK. The token trades as an ERC-20 on Ethereum, and it has been listed on centralised exchanges since long before the name appeared in this week's trending lists. This page sets out what can be checked about the token and the network from primary sources, what the project claims about itself, and what is simply not published. It carries no price target and no forecast.

    The short answer

    • PROM is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum at contract 0xfc82bb4ba86045af6f327323a46e80412b91b27d, with 18 decimals. A second contract carrying the same symbol exists on BNB Smart Chain.
    • It is also the native gas currency of the Prom network, a separate chain with chain ID 227, which was producing blocks when this page was written.
    • The on-chain token contract reports a total supply of 20,000,000 PROM on Ethereum. Aggregators publish smaller figures, and those numbers do not reconcile — see the supply section below, which explains why and shows you how to read it yourself.
    • The name is confusing on purpose-free grounds: the contract is still named Token Prometeus Network on-chain, and a completely different token called PROMPT shares much of the same search space.

What the project says it is

Prom's documentation is the only place the project describes itself, so everything in this section is the project's own claim rather than an independent finding. The introduction states that "Prom is a high-performance scalable network based on Polygon CDK, harnessing the power of zero-knowledge proofs", and the welcome page calls it "a cutting-edge Zero-Knowledge (ZK) blockchain developed using the Polygon CDK". The architecture named is a ZK-rollup with a zero-knowledge prover, which the documentation says "emulates the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) by duplicating all EVM opcodes". The three properties it claims are equivalence to the EVM, security derived from Ethereum, and scalability from zero-knowledge proofs.

On the token's role, the documentation states that "PROM is the native token that powers the Prom ecosystem, facilitating every transaction" and lists four uses: paying gas, governance, access to network services, and running a node. A separate FAQ page adds that the network supports account abstraction through ERC-4337, "enabling transparent fee payment with any token from the user's perspective", and that batching transactions is what lowers fees relative to Ethereum layer 1.

Worth knowing that a second, different description exists in circulation. Upbit's listing notice of 12 August 2026 describes Prom as a project aiming to be a comprehensive GameFi platform spanning an NFT marketplace, an aggregator, decentralised rental and mortgage solutions, a launchpad and a DEX, and says it launched its own zk-rollup layer 2 in March 2025. Both descriptions come from named sources and this page does not merge them into one story. If you are trying to understand what the project is doing today, the current documentation is the more recent statement of it.

Key facts, and where each one comes from

    • Ethereum contract: 0xfc82bb4ba86045af6f327323a46e80412b91b27d. Reading the contract directly returns name Token Prometeus Network, symbol PROM, 18 decimals. Upbit's own deposit notice names the same address, which is the cleanest independent confirmation available.
    • BNB Smart Chain contract: 0xaf53d56ff99f1322515e54fdde93ff8b3b7dafd5, name Prometeus, symbol PROM, 18 decimals. What relationship this deployment bears to the Ethereum one — bridged representation, mirror, or separate issue — is not published anywhere we could find, so this page does not assert one.
    • Prom network: chain ID 227, RPC endpoint rpc.prom.io, explorer promscan.io, native currency PROM, per the documentation. Querying the network directly returned chain ID 227 and a current block height above 9.2 million, with the latest block timestamped within seconds of real time on 12 August 2026.
    • Total supply: the Ethereum contract reports 20,000,000 PROM. The BNB Smart Chain contract also reports 20,000,000. CoinGecko lists total and maximum supply as 19,250,000 and circulating supply as 18,250,000 as of 12 August 2026. These do not reconcile and no source explains the difference, so both are given here rather than one being presented as the answer.
    • Launch date of the Prom network: not published consistently. The chain's own genesis block carries a timestamp of 29 October 2024; Upbit's notice describes a March 2025 launch. This page prints neither as the date.
    • Team: the documentation we read does not name it.

    How the token contract behaves

The Ethereum contract's source code is published on a public block explorer, verified in May 2019, compiled with Solidity 0.4.25, and it is not a proxy. That matters more than it sounds: it means the code that is running is the code you can read, and there is no separate implementation contract that can be swapped underneath it.

Reading that source, the token is a plain ERC-20 of its era. The entire supply is created once in the constructor and sent to the deploying address; the on-chain total supply today still equals that original figure, so no tokens have been created since. The source contains no mint function, no burn function, no pause switch, no address blocklist, no owner or administrator role, and no fee or tax applied to transfers. There is no delegatecall and no self-destruct.

That is a factual description of the contract's powers, not an assessment of the project. A token contract with no admin functions still tells you nothing about the team, the treasury, the network, or what happens next. The separate question of what can and cannot be verified about Prom as a whole is the subject of the risk page linked below.

    Where PROM trades

PROM is listed on a number of centralised venues. Verified directly against each exchange's own interface on 12 August 2026: Binance lists PROM/USDT on spot with the pair in trading status, and a USD-margined PROM perpetual that was onboarded in January 2025; MEXC runs a PROM/USDT perpetual created in December 2023 with a maximum leverage of 20×; Upbit added KRW and USDT markets on 12 August 2026, alongside a BTC market that already existed; and WEEX runs a PROM/USDT perpetual with a maximum leverage of 100×.

Aggregator data on the same day also showed pairs on Bitvavo (in euro), Gate, DigiFinex, Pionex, BingX, BloFin, Bitrue, TokoCrypto, HTX, Coinone, Koinpark (in rupees), and liquidity pools on Uniswap v3 and PancakeSwap v3. Those are reported by the aggregator rather than checked venue by venue, so treat them as a starting list to verify rather than a settled one.

One of those venues changed materially on the day this page was compiled, and the volume figures above are a snapshot of that day rather than a normal one. Our page on what happened to PROM on 12 August 2026 sets out the event, the numbers with their timestamps, and one widely-repeated explanation that does not hold up.

Getting exposure, and the one specification that catches people out

If you hold PROM on Ethereum, the practical points are the ordinary ones: it is a standard ERC-20, so any wallet that handles ERC-20 tokens will hold it, and any exchange deposit must use the network the exchange actually supports. Upbit, for instance, supports only the Ethereum network for PROM deposits and withdrawals and says so explicitly in its notice. Sending the BNB Smart Chain token to an Ethereum-only deposit address is the standard way people lose tokens.

If you use the Prom network itself rather than just holding the token, adding it to a wallet means adding chain ID 227 with the RPC endpoint from the documentation, in the same way you would add any other EVM chain.

    Risks, in one paragraph

The full treatment is on the risk page, but the honest summary is this. Ownership of the Ethereum contract is concentrated: on 12 August 2026 the largest single address held about 22% of supply and the top four held about 53% between them, across roughly 2,800 to 2,900 holder addresses. Nothing published labels those addresses, so whether they are exchange custody, market makers or individuals is not established. The project's documentation names a security partner but publishes no dated audit report. And the token's price history is long and violent: its record high, in April 2021, is many multiples of where it traded in the first half of August 2026. Read the risk page before the price page.

    Questions people actually ask

What is PROM coin? The token of the Prom network, an ERC-20 on Ethereum that also serves as the gas currency of a separate chain with ID 227. The project describes that chain as a Polygon-CDK zero-knowledge rollup.

Is PROM the same as PROMPT? No. PROMPT is a different token with a different contract, and the two are frequently confused because their names collide in search. Check the contract address, not the ticker.

Why is the contract called "Prometeus"? The on-chain name is Token Prometeus Network and aggregators still use the slug prometeus. Prom is the current branding; the contract name was set when it was deployed and cannot be changed.

How many PROM are there? The Ethereum contract reports 20,000,000. CoinGecko listed 18,250,000 circulating on 12 August 2026. The two do not reconcile, and no source we found explains the gap — so verify against the contract before using either figure for anything that matters.

Does PROM have its own blockchain? Yes, per the documentation and confirmed by querying it: chain ID 227, live and producing blocks on 12 August 2026.

    Trading PROM on WEEX

WEEX lists a PROM/USDT perpetual futures contract, which can be opened long or short and does not require holding the token. Its specifications differ from the majors on the same venue — see the WEEX futures markets for current contract details before trading. Leverage amplifies losses as well as gains, and thinly-traded contracts can move against a position faster than orders can be filled.
