Argentine Justice Freezes Binance Accounts of Ariel Vallejo
The Federal Court number 2 of Lomas de Zamora, under Judge Tomás Rodríguez Ponte, ordered Binance Latin America to immobilize the bank accounts and virtual wallets of Ariel Vallejo, owner of Sur Finanzas. The measure, known on October 6, 2026, is part of an investigation for alleged aggravated money laundering, tax evasion, and fraud by mismanagement. The aim is to establish the traceability of the financial flows of Vallejo and his companies, including Sur Crypto SA and Sur Valores SA. Additionally, Vallejo is prohibited from providing any financial services. The resolution prevents his participation in payment service providers while the measure is in effect. This judicial decision follows the reopening of a branch of his financial company in Canning, Buenos Aires, after a lack of merit was declared in a related case. The investigation originated from a complaint by the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA) regarding movements of approximately 818 billion pesos through a virtual wallet of the group. It is suspected that frontmen were used to conceal the identity of the true holders of the funds. Vallejo is known for his connections with Argentine football, being a lender and sponsor of clubs such as Banfield and San Lorenzo.
