Cosmos Staking Protocol Stride Proposes to Shut Down Chain and Migrate to Osmosis

By: x.com|09/29/2026 15:34:00

The Cosmos ecosystem's liquid staking protocol Stride has proposed an orderly shutdown of the Stride chain due to impending operational fund depletion. The current total value locked (TVL) is approximately $6 million. Users can redeem stTokens normally until October 12, after which redemptions will be paused, with a resumption expected around November 20 on Osmosis. stTokens will not expire. The project team stated that, at the current rate of fund consumption, the funds are expected to be depleted by February 2027. After migration, stATOM, stOSMO, and other stTokens will enter the Osmosis conversion pool at a fixed exchange rate, and redemptions will become a swap. After the migration is complete, no staking rewards will be generated.
