Cynthia Lummis: Clarity Act Rejected, Fails to Empower Treasury to Combat Money Laundering
Cynthia Lummis posted on the X platform, pointing out that the Democrats had previously sought to grant the Treasury new powers to cut off the funding channels for money laundering through offshore exchanges like Binance. She mentioned that the Clarity Act had already provided the Treasury with the relevant authority, but the Democrats voted against the bill during the vote, leading to the rejection of legislative attempts to strengthen the regulation of money laundering activities at offshore crypto exchanges.
