Jensen Huang Supports Trump's AI Safety Stance, Advocates Engineering Approaches to Address Risks

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has become a key ally of the Trump administration on the issue of AI safety regulation. Trump called Huang to express that "robots will not take over the world" and referred to concerns about AI and data centers as a "hoax."

Important NVIDIA clients such as OpenAI and Anthropic have recently called for a slowdown in the development of cutting-edge AI models and increased regulation. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei proposed slowing the pace of model capability enhancements, gaining support from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Elon Musk, and Google DeepMind head Demis Hassabis. Huang believes that catastrophic predictions lack scientific basis and argues that model developers should ensure safety before product release, relying on "traditional engineering methods" to address issues.

Trump's stance on AI safety is gradually aligning with Huang's, as the two have appeared together publicly at least six times during Trump's second term. U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen stated this week that Trump's position on AI is fully aligned with Huang's.
