American Bitcoin (ABTC) has activated 11,298 miners at its Drumheller mining site in Alberta, Canada, increasing its total hashrate to 28.1 EH/s. The hashrate of the equipment currently in operation is reported to be 25.0 EH/s. The activation of the Drumheller equipment was completed on April 22, and the newly deployed equipment added 3.05 EH/s to the total hashrate. The power efficiency is stated to be 13.5 J/TH. After the activation, the company's total number of mining machines increased to approximately 89,242, with about 58,999 units currently operational. Drumheller is an example of repurposing existing facilities, and Hut 8 decided to reactivate it due to improvements in power pricing and voltage issues. The average power efficiency of all owned equipment is 16.0 J/TH, while the newly activated equipment shows a higher efficiency of 13.5 J/TH. According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the cost of this equipment purchase was $49.4 million, and the total hashrate increased from 25.1 EH/s to 28.1 EH/s. American Bitcoin stated that this activation strengthens its position in Bitcoin mining.
