Bitcoin September Statistics: 3 Years of Gains After 6 Years of Weakness

By: www.tokenpost.kr|2026/08/28 15:18:20

Bitcoin (BTC) is experiencing a seasonal weakness ahead of September, contrasting with a rising trend over the past three years. XWIN Japan points out that September has historically been a challenging month for both the U.S. stock market and BTC, noting that the average return of the S&P 500 in September was approximately -0.8%, marking six consecutive years of negative returns in September. However, from 2023 to 2025, BTC has closed higher in September for three consecutive years. XWIN Japan attributes the September weakness to portfolio adjustments, profit-taking, and a reassessment of risk by investors. Additionally, they analyze that the U.S. midterm elections could increase policy uncertainty, leading to heightened volatility. The flow of BTC may vary depending on ETF fund inflows and spot demand, while overall market risk aversion could exert pressure on BTC. Therefore, the BTC flow in September cannot be explained solely by historical statistics, and it is essential to monitor both ETF fund flows and spot demand together.
