Bonk Guy Loses Approximately $100,000 Trading New Token, Reflects on Overtrading
Cryptocurrency trader Bonk Guy reported a loss of about $100,000 from trading a new token, attributing the primary reasons to overtrading and chasing new trading pairs and liquidity rotations that depleted his principal. The size of this position far exceeded his usual investment. Bonk Guy reflected that the common factor in his recent losses was reliance on others' judgments rather than establishing his own investment beliefs. He pointed out that the profits in this cycle mainly came from independent judgment and holding positions, but after achieving success, he became complacent and began making unnecessary trades. He emphasized that sometimes the best trade is no trade at all, and in the future, he will focus more on opportunities that he truly believes in, even if it means missing out on some market movements.

Bitcoin traded near $83,700 and is testing the $84,000–$85,000 cost-cluster zone. In crypto, L2 scaling, ZK modularity, high-performance L1s, gaming and DePIN were relatively active as capital rotated from pure meme trades toward infrastructure narratives. In equities, NVIDIA’s market value is approaching $6 trillion, supported by AI infrastructure demand, while optical modules and fiber names were relatively resilient. Bond markets are closed on October 12 ET for the holiday, while equities trade as normal; the pause in yield pricing may amplify intraday volatility.
