David Schwartz Continues His Role on Ripple's Board of Directors
David Schwartz announced that he has retired from Ripple but continues to serve on the board of directors and retains the title of CTO Emeritus. Schwartz stated that he no longer takes on daily responsibilities. He mentioned that he meets with his former team twice a month and occasionally visits Ripple's offices. As one of the original architects of the XRP Ledger, Schwartz served as Ripple's chief cryptographer from 2011, became the technology director in 2018, and transitioned to the CTO Emeritus position in 2025. Schwartz emphasized that he has not distanced himself from the XRP community, continues to participate in the XRP Ledger through his own XRP node, and is exploring new use cases. He also announced that he will serve as a strategic advisor at Evernorth, a company supported by Ripple. He participated in a session on the future of the XRP Ledger at the Swell event held in October.
