Dragonfly Partner Emphasizes the Need for Humanity to Address AI Safety Issues
Dragonfly Managing Partner Haseeb posted on the X platform, pointing out that throughout history, humanity has faced various risks such as tiger attacks, the Black Death, smallpox, famine, earthquakes, and wars. These issues did not disappear on their own but were gradually resolved through vaccines, sewer construction, alliances, and research in earth sciences. He warned that just because humanity has successfully dealt with risks in the past does not mean that AI risks will also disappear on their own. Haseeb emphasized that AI will not become safe by itself; humanity must truly address AI safety issues and maintain control over AI. He noted that humanity may soon hand over nearly all critical control in society to AI, so it is essential to ensure that humans still retain control.
