DTCC Launches Tokenization Service, Supporting 34 Securities
DTCC has announced the launch of its tokenization service, which initially supports the tokenization of 34 securities. The tokens are backed 1:1 by securities held in custody by DTC, and holders enjoy the same legal rights and economic benefits as the underlying securities. The traditional market and on-chain use the same CUSIP codes, allowing for 24/7 peer-to-peer transfers between DTC-registered wallets. The service includes built-in compliance controls for near real-time ownership tracking. Initial wallet and application partners include BitGo, Blockdaemon, Fireblocks, HashKey, Kaleido, Prometheum, Talos, Temple, and Tradeweb.
