Ethereum EIP-8198 Proposal Reduces Block Time to 10 Seconds
The Ethereum community is advancing the EIP-8198 proposal, which aims to reduce the L1 block time from 12 seconds to 10 seconds, with plans for further reductions depending on network conditions. Multiple project teams and infrastructure groups support this proposal, believing that shorter block times will enhance DEX pricing efficiency, improve LP returns and user interaction experience, while also strengthening transaction inclusion and censorship resistance, without significantly undermining geographic decentralization of nodes and the participation threshold for validators.
