Ethereum staking reaches record 43.8 million ETH in Q3
Ethereum staking hit a record 43.8 million ETH at the end of Q3, with net inflows of 1.99 million ETH during the quarter, marking six consecutive quarters of growth. Bitwise reported that 35.9% of Ethereum’s total supply is staked, while the annual yield decreased to 2.63% from 2.81%. In comparison, 69% of Solana’s total supply was staked, with its yield falling to 5.99% from 6.38%. The number of Ethereum validators decreased to approximately 881,000 from about 1.1 million, attributed to operators consolidating validators post-Pectra upgrade rather than a decline in staked ETH. Solana's validator count dropped to 659 from 696, reflecting a roughly 30% decline year-over-year due to increased operating costs.
