Fairshake Invests $2.7 Million to Support 2026 House Candidates
The American political action committee Fairshake, along with its affiliated entities Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress, has spent a total of $2.7 million to support Democratic and Republican candidates running for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2026. The expenditures occurred 22 days before the U.S. midterm elections. The spending includes over $76,000 in advertising support for House Majority Whip Tom Emmer and $73,000 for House Agriculture Committee Chair Glenn Thompson; California Congressman Pete Aguilar and New Jersey Congressman Josh Gottheimer received $512,000 and $500,000 in support, respectively. Fairshake announced a few days ago its plan to support an additional 32 House candidates in 2026, with six of them each receiving $1 million in media support. As of August, Fairshake holds $122 million in cash and plans to allocate at least $30 million in media spending to oppose Sherrod Brown in the Ohio Senate election. All of the aforementioned candidates voted in favor of the Digital Asset Market Transparency Act (CLARITY Act) in 2025, which aims to establish rules for the cryptocurrency market structure and expand the regulatory enforcement authority of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), but it did not pass the Senate procedural vote in September.
