Government Approves Mega Company Investment of 360 Million Dollars
The government approved the entry of Mega Company's project into the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI), which will allocate 360 million dollars to expand its natural gas liquid processing capacity. The approval was announced by the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, who highlighted that the initiative will add 1,500 tons per day to the company's production capacity and generate exports of 190 million dollars annually. The project, presented on March 18, 2026, includes processing, fractionation, compression, and liquefaction tasks in the oil and gas sector. The investment will extend until the end of 2028, with works in Neuquén, Río Negro, La Pampa, and Buenos Aires. Expansions will take place at Loma La Lata, a new turbo compressor will be incorporated, and two pumping stations will be built. During construction, around 800 direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created. Once the expansion is completed, Mega Company will be able to incorporate an additional 1,500 tons per day, increasing its capacity by approximately 27%. It is estimated that 80% of the additional volume will be allocated for export.
