Jeff Yan May Consider Researching Options as a New Entrepreneurial Direction
During an exclusive interview at DAS 2026 Asia, Jeff Yan, founder of the decentralized perpetual contract trading platform Hyperliquid, stated that if he were to start a new venture, he might explore options. He mentioned that many people have shown interest in options trading, and although perpetual contracts have met most user needs, there are still users who feel that they cannot express all market views. Yan believes that HIP-4 is an obvious way to build an options protocol, capable of inheriting spot, order book, and portfolio margin, while utilizing perpetual contracts to hedge the delta of options. He pointed out that the key lies in how to transform these elements into a product that broadly attracts users. He thinks that currently, there are no products in the crypto space similar to options that have achieved escape velocity, while such products have already succeeded in traditional finance.

The Wormhole (W) price rose more than 60% in 24 hours on October 11 and 12, 2026, and about 100% over seven days on KuCoin's data. Sources link the move to altcoin rotation, not a new Wormhole event.
