Jon Leaves Hyperlane to Join Open Standard as Marketing Head
Jon, a key figure at the cross-chain interoperability protocol Hyperlane, announced his departure from the project after four years and thousands of tweets. He will join Open Standard to lead marketing efforts, aiming to bring its stablecoin Open USD (OUSD) to more users. The founding partners of Open Standard include Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa, with Zach Abrams serving as CEO. Jon expressed that he has long believed stablecoins are the most useful products in the crypto industry, but he is disappointed with the current situation where a few issuers retain all economic arrangements. He mentioned that last year, the issuance process of the native stablecoin USDH by Hyperliquid demonstrated a market demand for a new stablecoin that can share profits and upside rights with partners driving real use cases. Jon also stated that companies building or considering using stablecoins can reach out to Open Standard, which is currently hiring.
