Korea's Financial Commission to Hold Security Threat Response Meeting on November 5, Attended by Presidents of Five Major Banks
The Financial Services Commission of Korea will hold a seminar on AI security threat responses in the financial sector on November 5, chaired by Chairman Lee Ik-yeon. The meeting will be attended by Financial Supervisory Service Governor Lee Chan-jin, Financial Security Institute President Park Sang-won, and the presidents of the five major banks: KB Kookmin Bank, Shinhan Bank, Hana Bank, Woori Bank, and NH Nonghyup Bank. The meeting will focus on reviewing the implementation of security enhancement measures following recent cyberattack incidents in the financial sector. This meeting coincides with the expiration of the terms of the five bank presidents on December 31, and financial groups have already initiated successor selection processes, making cybersecurity and internal control capabilities important variables in year-end personnel arrangements.
