Meta Acquires AI Programming Startup Conductor
Meta has acquired the AI programming startup Conductor. The AI programming tools developed by Conductor allow users to deploy AI agents across multiple parallel workspaces, advancing various software projects. Charlie Holtz, the founder and CEO of Conductor, announced the news and stated that the company is planning for the next generation of interactive interfaces, which will bring new developments early next year. Meta confirmed the acquisition but did not disclose the details of the transaction. Founded in 2024, Conductor launched its core product last summer, enabling AI agents to be deployed in the cloud, on local devices, or on mobile phones, assisting software engineers in collaboratively handling independent parts of the same project. Holtz mentioned that Conductor's core functionalities will continue to operate as before until early next year, but its cloud services will shut down on November 20, and user cloud data will begin to be deleted.
