South Korea tax agency plans year-end tracking of top crypto holders
South Korea’s National Tax Service is implementing a plan to manage year-end statistics on major virtual asset holders. On Oct. 6, the agency disclosed preliminary specifications for a project related to its 2027 computerized data recovery system forensics platform and integrated virtual asset analysis system. A key component of this project is the collection of year-end virtual asset statistics for top holders. The system will include functions for maintaining transaction statement statistics by user, by virtual asset, and by exchange, as well as year-end statistics on top holders. This initiative aims to establish a framework for identifying users with significant virtual asset holdings by exchange.
