Thailand Suspends Construction of 49 Data Center Projects, Awaiting New Regulations

The Thai government has ordered the suspension of construction on 49 data center projects while awaiting the introduction of new regulations. Danucha Pichayanan, Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council, stated that the pause is due to the government's efforts to formulate new regulatory rules and guidelines for existing and upcoming data centers. The Thai Data Center Regulatory Committee, chaired by the Minister of Finance, held its first meeting on Friday and is expected to announce the new regulations within a month.
