Trillions in Advisor Wealth Could Enter Bitcoin Market
Trillions in advisor wealth remain uninvested in Bitcoin due to restrictions from wirehouse rules at firms like Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan. James Seyffart discusses how these regulations limit financial advisors' ability to purchase Bitcoin ETFs for clients. He highlights the potential for significant demand if advisors adjust their target allocations, especially after many chose to wait out the bear market. Daily inflows into Bitcoin ETFs have approached 1 billion, raising questions about the impact of ETF flows on Bitcoin prices. Seyffart also addresses the dynamics between spot holders and ETF investors, the unwinding of hedge fund trades, and the possibility of Bitcoin ETFs surpassing gold ETFs. He notes that there is an overlooked data point of 30 to 40 trillion in advisor wealth that could be directed towards Bitcoin.
