xAI Multimodal Head Lin Xudong Joins Tencent Hunyuan
Lin Xudong, the head of multimodal understanding at xAI, has joined Tencent Hunyuan. Lin previously participated in the development of the Gemini multimodal model at Google DeepMind, and later joined xAI to lead the multimodal understanding direction. This marks the third core researcher Tencent has recruited in less than a year, with Yao Shunyu already serving as Tencent's Chief AI Scientist and former OpenAI researcher Tian Yonglong joining in July to participate in the development of visual language models.
