Zcash Developers Introduce Tachyon Code, Aiming for Over 50,000 Privacy Payments per Second

Zcash developers have integrated part of the scaling project Tachyon's code into the Zakura Common cryptographic library, with a new component named Udon released on Monday. Sean Bowe, the head of Tachyon, stated that Udon aims to leverage the performance optimizations of Zakura Common. The long-term goal set by Bowe and Dev Ojha, head of Valar Group, is to achieve over 50,000 privacy payments per second. Tachyon reduces the amount of data that Zcash nodes need to receive and verify by merging proofs of multiple transactions into a single proof, but this upgrade has not yet been enabled on the Zcash network. According to ZecStats data, as of September 28, the average number of transactions involving privacy funds in the past seven days was about 6,200, a decrease from the average of about 11,700 as of September 21.
