Bitcoin Cycle May Shift from 4 Years to 6 to 8 Years
On-chain analyst Willy Woo stated that Bitcoin has historically followed a regular 4-year cycle influenced by the halving mechanism. However, as the impact of new supply from halving diminishes, this endogenous cyclical factor is decreasing. Currently, the annual new supply of BTC accounts for about 0.8% of the total supply, which is expected to drop to 0.4% in the future. Meanwhile, traditional financial markets typically have short-term debt cycles of 6 to 8 years. Therefore, Woo believes that Bitcoin may be gradually transitioning to a 6 to 8-year cycle and is currently in a transitional phase of this structural change.
