BlackRock's Bond CIO Says AI Bonds More Attractive Than U.S. Treasuries, Short-Term A-rated Corporate Bonds Yield About 7%
BlackRock's Chief Investment Officer for Global Fixed Income, Rick Rieder, stated that the scale of debt financing brought about by AI infrastructure development is unprecedented, making newly issued high-rated bonds more attractive than U.S. long-term Treasuries. Rieder pointed out that as the issuance of corporate bonds expands, the yield conditions for these bonds become more favorable. Currently, the yield on the U.S. 10-year Treasury has exceeded 5%, but investors can achieve approximately 7% yield by purchasing shorter-term single A-rated corporate bonds, while avoiding the duration risk associated with long-term Treasuries. He believes that the current market presents a potentially once-in-a-lifetime investment opportunity. Rieder favors secured bonds issued by high-quality companies and assets that can generate cash flow, and he believes that the valuations of stocks in the semiconductor and computing sectors remain at reasonable levels.
