The organizers removed the booth after videos of the event went viral on social media. The drink was made with water, lemon slices, and, in some cases, cola, while the participants kept their bare feet submerged in containers. Each cup was sold for 50 yuan, approximately 7 dollars, a high price for the event. Images of the process raised concerns about hygiene conditions and sparked a debate about the limits of attention-seeking actions. As the booth gained visibility, criticism increased over the food safety risks. The organizers dismantled the booth and expelled the involved cosplayers, stating that they would not allow activities that compromise public health or alter the family-friendly nature of the event. This incident reignited the debate over the limits of viral actions at conventions.
