Czech Bank Banka Enables Bitcoin Purchases via Mobile App
Czech bank Banka has partnered with the exchange Anycoin, allowing bitcoin trading through its mobile application. The bank becomes the first institution in the Czech Republic to offer such services. An account for trading can be set up in a few minutes, with transactions starting at $23 (approximately 500 Czech korunas). The bank does not charge fees for storing bitcoins; however, cryptocurrencies cannot be withdrawn to an external wallet. A margin of 2% is applied to each transaction (1.5% for the bank and 0.5% for Anycoin). Currently, only bitcoins are available in the app, and the bank does not plan to add other cryptocurrencies. The bank's CEO, Petr Borkovec, emphasized that the new service aims to simplify the process of purchasing bitcoins. Anycoin provides the bank with infrastructure and a MiCA license, enabling operations throughout the European Union. The new service could increase cryptocurrency adoption in the Czech Republic by offering a straightforward method of purchase without the need to create a personal wallet.
