Ether.fi Ends Association with EigenLayer This Quarter, with Less Than 1% of Assets Re-staked
The liquid staking protocol Ether.fi will end its last structural association with EigenLayer this quarter, with less than 1% of assets being re-staked. CEO Mike Silagadze stated that the reason for the exit is the ongoing risks associated with re-staking and the lack of substantial returns. Currently, re-staking secures $10 billion in assets but generates only $99,977 in fees per week; the average liquid staking yield is approximately 53 times that of the secured assets. The top five remaining liquid re-staking tokens generated a total gross profit of $953,400 last quarter, down from $2.18 million three quarters ago.
