Goldman Sachs: HBF Technology Has a Potential Market Size of $150 Billion
Goldman Sachs released a research report indicating that the rapid growth in AI inference demand has led to insufficient storage capacity, becoming a significant bottleneck for computational efficiency. New NAND technologies such as High Bandwidth Flash (HBF) are expected to alleviate this "memory wall" issue and significantly reduce AI infrastructure costs. It is estimated that with GPU adoption rates reaching between 15% and 50%, the potential market size for HBF could reach between $40 billion and $150 billion. Goldman Sachs is optimistic about the leading advantages of SanDisk and SK Hynix in HBF technology, maintaining a "buy" rating for both companies; Samsung Electronics is also expected to benefit. In contrast, Micron, due to its business focus on DRAM and HBM, is expected to benefit less directly, maintaining a "neutral" rating.
