Government Suspends Sergey Gursky from Position as Head of Shipping Administration

The Cabinet of Ministers has suspended Sergey Gursky from performing the duties of the head of the State Service of Maritime and Inland Water Transport and Shipping of Ukraine during a disciplinary investigation due to possible violations in his work. The decision to initiate the disciplinary proceedings was made on September 9. The duties have been temporarily assigned to Sergey Maximov. The Ministry for Restoration, Infrastructure, and Transport of Ukraine emphasized that the information regarding possible violations requires verification and legal assessment. The disciplinary proceedings will be conducted by the Commission for the Higher Corps of the Civil Service, which must notify the government of the results of the investigation by October 23, 2026. The ministry has also contacted law enforcement agencies to request verification of the disclosed information. Personnel decisions regarding the leadership of the Shipping Administration will be made after the completion of the disciplinary proceedings.
