Hong Hao: Market Cycle Research is Essentially the Same as Fortune-Telling, but with Different Methodologies

By: rootdata|2026/07/31 04:25:17

At a private event hosted by Binance, economist Hong Hao stated that market cycle research and traditional fortune-telling are fundamentally both predictions of the future, with the distinction lying in the methodologies employed. He pointed out that traditional fortune-telling is based on long-term observational experience, while investment research relies on historical data, using quantitative analysis to deduce patterns and forecast the future. Hong Hao believes that there is no standard answer applicable to everyone when it comes to market predictions, as investment decisions vary from person to person. He emphasized that whether it is cycle research or forecasting, it is an exploration of future patterns, and every prediction has its limits, necessitating a sense of reverence. Hong Hao concluded that predicting is essentially peering into the future, and revealing the secrets of fate is a challenging endeavor.
