Kyivstar Appeals AMCU Fine of UAH 17.5 Million
Kyivstar is appealing in court the decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to impose a fine of UAH 17.5 million. The company disagrees with the regulator's conclusions regarding the advertising claim. Kyivstar respects the role of the AMCU in ensuring fair competition and protecting consumer rights, and it collaborates with the regulator. The operator emphasizes that using the results of research from the international company Ookla to support marketing statements is a common practice in the global electronic communications market. The advertising materials indicated the source of the data, the period of the study, and other conditions for using the results. Kyivstar insists that the communication complied with the law and that consumers were provided with the necessary information to understand the advertising message. By the end of 2025, the Kyivstar group increased its revenue by 30.3% to UAH 48.2 billion, while EBITDA grew by 30% to reach UAH 27 billion. As of the end of the first quarter of 2026, the operator's subscriber base amounted to 22 million users. Earlier, there were reports of Kyivstar's intentions to acquire 80% of the shares of the cloud provider GigaCloud.
