Major bitcoin holders, also known as 'whales', have added approximately 43,000 bitcoins to their wallets over the past sixty days, valued at around $2.75 billion. According to Bloomberg, these purchases indicate a potential turning point in the cryptocurrency market. The investors bought in when the price was around $60,000, while the current price is approximately $64,500. In addition to the largest players, medium-sized investors holding between 100 and 1,000 bitcoins have also been actively buying since the end of July. This trend follows an earlier wave of purchases in June, when large investors also took advantage of the low prices. Despite these activities, a rapid recovery of the market remains uncertain. The bitcoin price is still far below last year's peak, and many retail investors have exited the market. Furthermore, trading volumes in August are exceptionally low, and cryptocurrency funds are experiencing significant capital outflows.
