Musk and The Economist Editor Clash

On July 26, a video of Elon Musk's interview with The Economist was released on July 23. In the video, The Economist editor Zanny Minton Beddoes accused Musk of being out of touch and misusing his influence to spread false panic and far-right rhetoric about Europe. Beddoes stated that Musk is the worst tribal participant on social media. In response, Musk claimed that half of his partner's heritage is Indian and that his company's executives come from various ethnic backgrounds, asserting that he is not a racist. Musk also pointed out that the media's characterization of "far-right" is false and misleading. Beddoes countered that Musk's claim that "a civil war in the UK is just a matter of time" is unfounded, as the security situation in the UK is better than in any city in the US. Beddoes criticized Musk for being out of touch, stating that "many people dislike you." Musk responded by saying he has 250 million followers and believes that those who like him outnumber those who do not, asserting that more people dislike Beddoes and the media.
