Villa General Belgrano once again becomes one of the major winter tourism hubs with a new edition of the National Alpine Chocolate Festival, an event that, until July 26, brings together the best of Central European gastronomy, live performances, and cultural proposals for the whole family.

With free admission, the celebration takes place in the Events and Conventions Hall of the town and offers a journey through the flavors that have made this mountainous destination a national reference for artisanal chocolate and typical pastries.

Artisanal chocolates, cakes, fondues, Central European cakes, and other specialties made by local producers are the focus of a festival that, year after year, attracts thousands of visitors during the winter holidays.

The gastronomic tradition is complemented by a wide program of activities that includes music, traditional dances, circus performances, magic, and recreational proposals for all ages.

The 2026 edition of the National Alpine Chocolate Festival arrives at a special moment for Villa General Belgrano. The town has been selected to represent Córdoba and Argentina in the Best Tourism Villages 2026, an initiative promoted by UN Tourism that recognizes villages that preserve their cultural heritage and promote sustainable tourism development.

The president of the Córdoba Tourism Agency, Darío Capitani, highlighted that the nomination "is a recognition of the sustained work that the town does to preserve its identity, enhance its traditions, and consolidate a model of sustainable tourism development."

He also noted that "Córdoba has towns with immense cultural, gastronomic, and natural value. This type of international program allows us to showcase the authenticity of our communities and the commitment that exists between the public sector, private sector, and residents to continue growing sustainably."

One of the most anticipated moments of each edition is the Chocolate Fondue, a tradition that takes place on Saturdays and brings together visitors and residents around a large collective tasting.

This classic has become one of the main attractions of the event and encapsulates the spirit of a celebration that combines gastronomy, cultural identity, and community gathering.

The artistic schedule includes performances by folk groups, Central European orchestras, ballets, dance academies, circus artists, and musicians from various genres.

Among the scheduled shows, standout performances include those by Javier Calamaro, the magic show by Martín Nicolini, the participation of the Municipal Central European Orchestra Alpenklang, the Brisas Inmigrantes Orchestra, the Tirol Group, the Alpine Angels from the Swiss Association San Jerónimo Norte, as well as folklore, jazz, urban dance, and flamenco academies.

During the weekends, there will also be circus performances, children's proposals, musical ensembles, and presentations by local artists that complete a program designed for audiences of all ages.

The National Alpine Chocolate Festival also serves as a starting point to discover some of the main attractions of the Calamuchita Valley.

From Villa General Belgrano, it is possible to take excursions to La Cumbrecita, Villa Alpina, Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, and the Los Molinos Dam, in addition to exploring the traditional gastronomic and commercial walks in the town center.

During July, the municipality also offers guided activities such as visits to the Virgin Hill, city tours, astrotourism experiences, bird and nocturnal insect observation, as well as walks through the Paseo de los Arroyos, one of the most characteristic natural spaces of the destination.

The National Alpine Chocolate Festival runs until July 26 at the Events and Conventions Hall, located at Av. Julio A. Roca 168, in Villa General Belgrano.

The venue is open every day from 11:00 AM, while the artistic performances take place on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 3:00 PM.

With free admission, the proposal consolidates itself as one of the most important tourist events of the Argentine winter, combining gastronomy, Central European traditions, culture, and nature in one of the most emblematic destinations in the Córdoba mountains.
