Police Discover Hidden Crypto Mine with 300 Computers in Mexico
The police have discovered a hidden crypto mine in Tlaola, Puebla, containing approximately 300 powerful computers. The building also housed eighty medium-voltage connections and eight satellite antennas. Authorities are investigating the source of the money behind the operation and whether the mined crypto was used for laundering criminal money. This is the fourth crypto mine found in the area since the beginning of 2025. Investigations are underway to determine if the crypto mine illegally drew power from a nearby hydroelectric plant, which would reduce operational costs. Mining requires a lot of electricity, and those who do not have to pay these costs can make significant profits. Additionally, authorities are looking into possible involvement of drug cartels, although there is currently no hard evidence for this. The investigation into the operators of the crypto mine is ongoing.
