Reuters Survey Shows No Change in Bearish Dollar Outlook, Short-Term Strength Risks Rising

By: www.odaily.news|11/03/2026 13:54:21

A recent Reuters foreign exchange survey shows that despite the dollar's recent performance exceeding market expectations, the surveyed strategists maintain their outlook for a weaker dollar over the next year. As the U.S. midterm elections approach, analysts are beginning to caution that the dollar may remain strong for an extended period. The survey results indicate that the overall forecasts for the dollar among the strategists have changed little compared to early October, but there is a general belief that the risk of the dollar performing better than predicted is rising. This divergence reflects the complex situation in the current foreign exchange market: the resilience of U.S. economic growth and inflation makes it difficult for the Federal Reserve to quickly shift to a more accommodative stance, while geopolitical risks and capital flows continue to influence the dollar's trajectory.
