Survey Shows Only 13% of Americans Support Candidates Promoting Crypto and DeFi Development
A joint survey by the DeFi Education Fund and Ipsos reveals that 35% of American respondents believe political candidates should support the development of next-generation financial technology. However, when the question specifically addresses blockchain, cryptocurrency, and DeFi, this percentage drops to 13%. Additionally, 74% of respondents think the financial system needs reform to allow individuals to have more control over their assets; only 9% reported being very or extremely familiar with cryptocurrency, and 5% expressed high trust in decentralized platforms. Among those interested in trying DeFi, the primary uses are for savings and domestic transfers within the United States, rather than speculation. The cryptocurrency ownership rate has increased by 4 percentage points, while the usage rate has remained steady at 13% over the past year.
