NVIDIA connects computing power to financial pipelines, Meta pushes agents into terminals, and OpenAI locks stronger network capabilities behind approval and monitoring. Competition begins to divide into three layers: assets, distribution, and permissions.

1|NVIDIA is no longer just selling chips; it is selling financeable computing power ---------------------
On August 10, NVIDIA announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Bow Capital, Goldman Sachs, and KKR to establish an independent computing power financing platform, aiming to mobilize over $500 billion in third-party capital in the long term. The final agreement is still pending execution, but Jensen Huang has already defined "NVIDIA computing power" as an investable asset.
This is more noteworthy than a large financing round. NVIDIA is rewriting upstream orders from hardware sales into long-term infrastructure cash flows linked to usage. Chip performance, software ecosystems, and customer demand are beginning to serve as the basis for financial institutions to assess asset duration and returns. The next bottleneck for AI infrastructure is not just supply, but who can convert the high upfront investment into contracts that can be sustained by long-term capital.

2|Meta pushes agents into terminals, open source is about distribution rights -----------------------
Meta released Muse Glimmer, with model weights licensed under Apache 2.0, optimized for local agent workflows. It has 30 billion parameters and can run on a Mac or a single consumer-grade GPU after quantization, with model weights available for download on Hugging Face. Meta's goal is not to recreate a chat entry point that only calls on the cloud but to bring agents closer to user devices, files, and tools.
Data centers remain the battlefield with the highest capital density, but agents that can fit into personal computers will push the distribution point of capabilities towards terminals. Zuckerberg emphasized in a public article the importance of enabling more people to access AI capabilities. For Meta, open weights also represent a product pathway, allowing models to bypass the single entry point of cloud APIs and establish connections between local devices, development tools, and personal contexts. The open-source battle is not just about whose model is stronger, but who can first occupy the developer and terminal entry points.

3|Strategy sells coins, cash buffers become a new faith -----------------------
In a document dated August 10, Strategy stated that its dollar reserves increased by $650 million to $4.65 billion, and it repurchased approximately $109 million in STRC preferred stock. The company's books show that it sold 1,690 bitcoins between August 3 and 9, with an average transaction price of $64,262, generating approximately $109 million in revenue. The sale of coins and the repurchase of preferred stock occurred simultaneously, marking the first clear cash maneuver in the narrative of holding coins.
This does not mean the company is abandoning bitcoin, but rather that the valuation logic of bitcoin reserves is becoming more complex. Public companies used to gain premiums through continuous buying, but now they must also answer how long cash can cover dividends and repurchases. Bitcoin has not been removed from the balance sheet, but it is starting to resemble a liquid pool that can be scheduled rather than merely a faith asset that accumulates in one direction. For other treasury companies, market pricing is extending from the quantity of holdings to the matching of leverage, preferred stock, and cash buffers.

4|The more models invade, the more deployment resembles regulation ---------------
On August 7, OpenAI stated that preliminary assessments of the unreleased model Astra indicated that it could not rule out the possibility of achieving "critical" level network capabilities. The company did not announce a delay in release but suspended some internal activities that did not meet enhanced safety requirements and tightened isolation environments, networks, and tool permissions. Three days later, OpenAI provided GPT-5.6-Cyber to approved defense researchers through Daybreak Red.
The boundaries of this arrangement are very specific. GPT-5.6-Cyber is aimed at vulnerability research and exploitation chain verification, with access requiring identity verification, continuous monitoring, usage restrictions, and legal commitments; the official assessment remains "high" rather than "critical." Defenders need stronger tools, while the platform must prevent the same set of capabilities from losing boundaries. Model security is no longer just about whether answers are compliant; the real threshold is what systems it can access, who can invoke it, and who can trace it after invocation. (Continued from yesterday's report)

5|NVIDIA's strongest moment, peers are preparing a second path ---------------------
Reports indicate that Intel plans to issue $15 billion in new stock, while its latest quarterly revenue grew by 25.4% year-on-year to $16.13 billion, with data center and AI business growing by 59%. On the other hand, Microsoft plans to launch its self-developed Maia 300 chip in September to supplement cloud computing power supply. Jefferies has downgraded Apple to "sell," citing product roadmap adjustments and memory cost pressures as major concerns.
The three companies are not in the same storyline but are all responding to NVIDIA's strong cycle. Intel aims to prove its ability to return to the supply center with capital and capacity, Microsoft wants to add an internal channel for cloud computing power, and Apple must explain whether terminal AI can cover component price increases. NVIDIA's lead has not diminished competition; rather, it has made customers, suppliers, and competitors more eager to prepare alternative paths. The next competition among chip companies will not only look at performance but also at who can withstand fluctuations in supply chains and capital expenditures.
