Ukrnafta is expanding the use of artificial neural networks to process geological information, which increases the accuracy of engineering decisions and speeds up data acquisition for planning new wells. The Research and Design Institute of Ukrnafta has implemented two AI-based systems. The first project enhances the resolution and reduces noise in seismic data, providing geologists with more detailed information. The second project automates the digitization of structural maps, increasing processing speed fivefold. The Chairman of the Board of Ukrnafta, Bohdan Kuku, noted that the company's competitiveness depends on the speed of data handling. Specialists are updating digital solutions, including automatic interpretation of geophysical surveys and systems for digitizing logging materials. Automation allows for the preparation of geological and geophysical data for digital reservoir models in one day instead of two to six weeks. Over 600,000 geological and industrial documents have been digitized and translated into Ukrainian. The company plans to launch a system for automatic detection of faults based on 3D seismic data and an intelligent assistant for geological data. Ukrnafta also plans to open five new wells in a promising area.
