Ukrzaliznytsia Restricts Freight Transportation to the Ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk

Ukrzaliznytsia has imposed restrictions on freight transportation at the Chornomorsk and Odesa-Port stations. The restrictions apply to all cargo for the Odesa Port Plant, as well as wheat and barley for Louis Dreyfus Company Ukraine, and will remain in effect until further notice. The transportation of all types of cargo is restricted to the Chornomorsk station destined for the Odesa Port Plant. Wheat is not accepted for transportation to the Odesa-Port (export) CPS and Odesa-Port CPS for Louis Dreyfus Company Ukraine, nor is barley accepted to the Odesa-Port CPS for the same company. All restrictions will remain in effect until a separate decision is made to lift them. The reasons for the restrictions have not been specified. Earlier, it was reported that shipping to the ports had been suspended. Starting from August 1, 2026, freight railway tariffs in Ukraine will increase by 30%, and another increase of 15% is planned for January 1, 2027, which will raise the costs of transporting raw materials and finished products.
